Wednesday

Yes, these are the precious faces that I am so honored to mother. There are some days, like today, that being their mother seemed so difficult. Don't get me wrong, I would have it no other way. I love being their "Mama." I love their hugs and kisses. I love to read to them. I love to play with them. I love to watch them interact. I love to teach them new things. I love to help them. I mean really, I love everything that involves them and me! So, if I love them so much, why was today so difficult? To answer my own question, it just was!

Shooter Gun

In Jordan's world, this is called a "shooter gun." As of recent, he has gotten a little obsessed with guns. It seems as though anything in the house is fair game to become a shooter gun. This is really his drill, but has everything needed to be converted into a shooter gun! He asks me to shoot it, I do my best, but have yet to shoot it to his standards. And yes, every time I try, he corrects me and shows me the right way. I should add that as I tried to take these pictures, it was really disturbing him and messing up his technique!

Let's Play

Jamison is learning to play with and hold his toys! At this point, he is putting ALL things into his mouth! He especially likes to hold onto our fingers and try his best to get them in his mouth. He is getting big way too fast; I do my best to treasure every moment with this sweet baby.

Reasons to Smile

Daddy and Jamison; I used to think there was some resemblance, but now I'm not sure. I do know that this is the best Daddy ever!

Jannah is helping me at the grocery store. How wonderful that she has her own cart! By the time we finished, her cart was stacked really high. As we made the turn to checkout, the cart tipped, and most everything fell out! Thankfully, a few nice folks helped us load it back up. I love being able to have teachable moments such as these with all of my children.

This was their idea...........I promise! They did say the window was cold:)

If this is not reason enough to smile, then I don't know what is!

Korean Restaurant

Our friends Tad and Teal took us to a Korean restaurant, this was quite an experience! First off, we had to take our shoes off upon entering, which is Korean custom. We then got to sit on the floor, very interesting considering we had a little guy who thought he could run all over the place! As soon as we sat down, dishes of food were placed all around us, the grills were turned on, and we had to start grilling our Kalbi. Kalbi is short ribs that have been marinated in sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and garlic. While the meat was cooking, we ate soup. We were given two bowls, we were to all share. Koreans eat behind one another, no big deal I guess! The other dishes at our table were garlic, rice, kimch'i (cabbage, radishes or other vegetables pickled with garlic, chili pepper and ginger, then fermented in huge jars buried in the ground), noodles of some sort, chili paste, marinated beets, and many other things..............can't remember them all!

After the meat is grilled, you pick it up with chopsticks (Greg and Jannah are good at this) and top it with any of the toppings. I chose rice and a chili paste, it was very good:) Jannah likes the wraps as I call them, and Jordan really likes rice. Greg says he must have some Korean in him, because he could live off of rice alone.

This is the finished product! The Korean way is to put the whole thing in your mouth!

My Jordan

One of Jordan's many quirky faces! He is so funny, his personality reminds me of my sister Lori! He has the ability to make a silly face or say something totally off the wall and get himself out of trouble. Nonetheless, he cracks us up on an hourly basis!

Is he not such a big boy? I can't believe he is almost 3 years old. Seems like just yesterday he was a baby! Just as much as I like to take pictures, Jordan does not like to have his picture taken. This was taken with much bribery and promises; such as smarties, gummy worms, bowling, and my last resort was a spanking! Isn't that awful......I just wanted to get a few shots of my big boy:) He is all boy, those two words describe Jordan better than any two I can think of. I told him the other night as I was tucking him in that I loved him and he says to me, "well, I like you a lot too." I guess that will do for now!

Produce Anyone?

The Koreans may have another name for it, but I call this a produce truck. These are all over town! Each truck has a loud speaker that blasts what is for sale (in Korean, of course!) There are tangerines, bananas, eggs, persimmons, rice cakes and some things that are unrecognizable! They eat some strange things around here! This was taken down the street from our apartments. We were on our way to eat when I saw the truck, I asked Greg to pull over, because I wanted some Korean strawberries. The kids devour them in no time at all, they are sooooooooooo good, very sweet and juicy! This pack of berries cost 6000 won, which is a little over $6.00.

Changes

"Things do not change; we change." -Henry David Thoreau

I was reading a book recently and came across this quote. I don't usually remember quotes, but this one has been replaying in my mind. After some thought, I know why. Let me explain! We have been in Korea for six months now. To put it kindly, I have not been overly fond of this place, I have been somewhat ungrateful and have found myself complaining, a lot!
I am not sure when God allowed this huge transformation to take place, but I realize that I am now happy here. This is our home! Nothing has changed that would give me a new attitude, God's grace has reached down into my heart and changed me. He has given me a grateful heart and spirit. We have so much to be thankful for, and we have an opportunity for some wonderful memories. So with all that being said, I want to say that I am trying to embrace this experience and give it my best shot!!!

Girl Time

This past weekend Jannah and I had "girl time". This is a special time for she and I to go do a few girly things. It was her idea to dress alike; we both had on jeans, a black shirt, a necklace, and lipstick! We had so much fun together as we checked out a Korean craft store and grocery store; and yes, we girls made purchases at both!

Bubble Bath

Does this look like fun or what? Jannah and Jordan have a good time in the tub, and yes, they get water everywhere! The tubs in Korea are rather small, so once we put water, bubble bath and the two kiddos in, it's a tub-full!

Jamison 3 months

Just another picture of our precious baby boy!

Jamison 3 months

This has got to be the sweetest baby in the world! He is very content and patient. He spends a lot of time in this carseat, he is a baby on the go! We have nicnamed him "smiley", becasue that's what he does best:)
Well, I have been inspired to become a blogger! I have recently seen some of my friends blogs, and I think it is so cool! I think it will be a great way to keep our family and friends informed of all the great happenings in the Bailey household! I also think it will give me a chance to be creative with all of the pictures I take, since pictures of my children is somewhat of a passion for me. I hope you enjoy!
