What we've been up to...

Pig ears!
Really?! I didn't know people eat these! We saw them at the commissary a few weeks ago and decided we should try them. I wasn't sure how to prepare them, so of course, I googled it and found a way, just joking! We did not put them in our cart!

A typical school day...
The kids have "responsibilities." I'm amazed at what they can do and how well they can take care of things. They are rewarded with an allowance, which is exciting to them. The older two are learning a lot about money and how to handle it. Right now they are in save mode! It's been challenging to keep up with it, teach them about giving, spending and saving, but I know it's one of my jobs :) So, folding towels is one of the things they are responsible for; the other day while they were working on school work, the little J decided he would do it for them! I love his technique and he was sooo proud of himself for doing this for his siblings!
Jamison has recently taken a liking to drawing. A week or so ago, I walked by his room and saw that he was sitting up in his bed (he was supposed to be going to sleep and it was dark in there, except for the light from the 3 nightlights). I walked over to him and asked what he was doing, he responded with, "drawing a picture, it's an angel, it's you!" I sure do love that little one!
Jordan is having a blast at his archery class. We participate through the home school co-op; there are so many things to participate in and this one is a hit for Jordy!
Me and my boys!
Can you say COOL? O-my-soul! I could eat him up! Love that he loves to wear a tie and look all sporty for church!

This and That

It's the end of February! Can you believe that?!?! Somehow, time just keeps flying right by me. We have been doing well and staying busy...just like everyone else :) I have a few high points to hit...

Last week, we visited Springfield, IL (the capital of this grand state with high taxes). Oops. Did I just say that? We thought it would be appropriate and educational to visit the Lincoln Home Historical Site that resides in Springfield, on Presidents Day! I have discovered something about myself: I really enjoy history when someone lays the facts and details out for me, I just don't want to have to pour through lots of books to find the facts myself. Is that lazy? Anyways, our little tour of the home and the history we learned about Lincoln was quite fascinating to me. Even the kids were enjoying themselves :)

I am pretty sure that Jamison needed to go to the bathroom in this shot, seems like he's always doing the potty dance!

This is the home that Lincoln lived it. It's been restored and of course, it "looks" like it would have back in his day.

This little desk is the one piece in the house that did indeed belong to him.

Jannah and Jordan in the main parlor...where children were NOT allowed to be back in the day :) Such little rule-breakers!

After visiting Lincoln's home, we took a short ride down Rt. 66 and ate at Cozy Dogs. They say it's the birthplace of the corn dog, it was nice and greasy :) The old memorabilia was fun to admire and the kids thought the bottled soda was delish.

There were a lot of old license plates around the place, these were cool...all with the word cozy or dog :)

Jannah and Greg all dressed up for the Daddy Daughter Dance. I already know what you are thinking...she is so grown up. And yes, she really is!

Jannah and Jordan were both baptized a few weeks ago. Really, this is so exciting and life changing. We are so proud of them and for making it known to the world that they love Christ! Pastor Mike, one of our associate pastors baptized them...proud mama and daddy we were :)

That's all for now! I might just add that we are down to only 6 (S-I-X)) days until we find out our next assignment. I am only a little excited about it!

Basketball times 3!

We have three BB players in the house, oh yeah!!! That means three games on Saturday which is a great thing for winter, I think!

Jamison has been CA-RA-ZEEE about any kind of ball since he was a baby! He was so excited to be playing, and we were excited to see him in action. Imagine our surprise at his first game...he wouldn't leave our side to play.

This is him at week two: now, that's more like it!!!

This is Jordan getting pumped up for his game, check out the fancy footwork :)

Jannah decided she would give BB a try; Greg kinda bribed her and told her he would coach her team :) Turns out she enjoys it and has scored a few hoops!!

Jannah is the second one from the right, with the white jersey.

Let the good times roll, as we are in the full swing of Basketball!!
