Christmas Festivities and Tradations

I'm so excited that Christmas is here! Well, almost! I'm excited throughout the whole month of December and love every festivity and tradition we share as a family. We had a great Thanksgiving, spent it with our friends, Steven & Angela and their family. I succeeded in not taking one single picture...hate it when I do that..oh well! I started Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving night with Angela; need I say that we had a blast?!?! After shopping all night, I happily went with my family to the Christmas parade in downtown Belleville. We had a good ole time, even if it was way, way cold! This gingerbread house, made of sand was in the middle of the town square...how cool?!?

Can I just say that we had on tons of layers...

This past weekend, we made our own gingerbread houses. My kids greatly anticipate this activity! I think they do so for two reasons: they get to eat a LOT of candy and they get to be creative!

Jamison mostly ate candy; in fact, I don't think he ever put a piece on the house :)

We went out to the base over the weekend for a children's Christmas party. Our little friends, Sophie and Anna Grace joined us.

Yep, Jordan is telling Santa that he wants a dirt bike for Christmas! What am I going to do with that boy? I don't have the nerves or guts for that!! Jordy is so cute this year; he's such a believer and just eats it all up...know what I mean?

Greg and I had a date...to his work Christmas party! I always like going on dates with him, even if I have to share him! I won a really cool prize at the party...
a KINDLE!!!! I was so excited, what a cool prize to win! I gave it to Greg; he's always thought he might want one for us. Doesn't he look like a proud new owner of this gadget?!?!

Merry CHRISTMAS

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a spectacular New Year!!

my Jordi, all smiles

As we came home last night, Santa walked into the towers with us...the kids were stunned! He was making some visits, I'm just so thrilled we got to ride in the elevator with him!

2008 Gingerbread House Creation by J and J

This is an exciting time for all of us! The kit has been wrapped and under the tree, they knew exactly what it was when I handed it to them to unwrap...those smart little whippersnappers! I just love watching the kids be creative, and how they interact to create such a masterpiece. They were so proud of their work. This is the first year they both completed the task; last year Jordan only aided in eating the candy! This year, they both ate a lot of the candy, but did manage to decorate the house quite beautifully! I usually fret about all of the sugar intake, but not this year. I just relaxed, and enjoyed the moments of sugar highs with them. Oh what fun it is to be a kid and be so thrilled about eating candy with no limits!!!

Sunday Finest and a few Thoughts

So, it's my favorite time of the year....Christmas! The tree is up, the lights are on the balcony, the Yankee Christmas Cookie candle is burning, a few presents are under the tree, cards are being addressed, the kids and I have already made some cinnamon ornaments, the Gingerbread House will be made this week, Christmas music plays all the day long (has been for a few weeks now) and one last thing...lots of pictures of my kiddos in their Christmas apparel...by the tree! Like I said, it's my favorite time of the year!!
One more thing...my mom will be here in 11 more days. I'm just as excited about that as kids are about Santa Clause; maybe even more!!
