Birthday Boy!

S-E-V-E-N years old!!! That's just too hard to believe! Jordan is a blast, he's witty, he's full of energy, he's super-duper inquisitive...and best of all, he's my son!

I interviewed him; wanted to see what my seven year old might have in mind for goals/aspirations, here it goes:

What would you like to be when you grow up? "A movie-maker...like, I wanna make Batman movies."

Any athletic goals? "I want to play hockey and lacrosse."

What about spiritual goals? "Learn more about God, because you can never know too much about him."

Favorite food: "Easter lunch, pizza, and candy."

Favorite color: "Blue, because it stands for purity."

Academic goals: "Finish my math work and read a 10,000 page book."

Favorite movies: "Spiderman and Transformers, even though I haven't seen Transformers."

He was sooo over the top excited to open his presents from us...can you tell?!?!

Jannah crafted him a wallet and pocket knife holster from duct tape...

Isn't the excitement evident?

Jordan begged and begged for a pair of Air Jordan shoes...this is his reaction when he opened them!

Money from Grandma, he said he was rich!

Money and legos from Gamma and Gampa

A short walk down memory lane...I love this precious little baby! We love our Jordan!

Basketball times 3!

We have three BB players in the house, oh yeah!!! That means three games on Saturday which is a great thing for winter, I think!

Jamison has been CA-RA-ZEEE about any kind of ball since he was a baby! He was so excited to be playing, and we were excited to see him in action. Imagine our surprise at his first game...he wouldn't leave our side to play.

This is him at week two: now, that's more like it!!!

This is Jordan getting pumped up for his game, check out the fancy footwork :)

Jannah decided she would give BB a try; Greg kinda bribed her and told her he would coach her team :) Turns out she enjoys it and has scored a few hoops!!

Jannah is the second one from the right, with the white jersey.

Let the good times roll, as we are in the full swing of Basketball!!

Cowboy CUTE

Not so long ago, my sweet Jordan was nothing short of totally uncooperative for picture time! If and when I had a good picture of him, it was because he was bribed or threatened :) I know that makes me a horrible mother, but that's how I handled his disdain for the camera...Now, he seems to have finally come around to at least *liking* photo shoots (meaning, me taking his picture) a little better.

I have shown my true colors (ugliness and lack of self control over way TOO many pictures). I just wish my kids understood how much I love taking their picture and how passionate I am about the legacy and story we leave behind in photos.

What I really wanted to highlight is how cute Jordy looks here and I have to say that he was more than obliged to take these pictures. He was so proud of his real cowboy hat!

Please know that his little brother was also given a cowboy hat at Christmas and he too, was really excited. BUT, he is now the one that is totally uncooperative for the camera!!! Maybe in about 2-4 years, I will have that kink worked out! In the meantime, my nephew, Drake, was happy to stand by Jordan!

These kids...

They make me laugh...they really do!!

Jamison decided to do a little wall art, by himself...love it! His Gamma and Gampa gave him the Georgia Bulldog wall decals. I thought I had put them aside and I was thinking I would "help" him put them up, later. **I know when there is too much quiet time that he is doing something.** I had to laugh when I walked in his room and saw the finished product. Nice job, Jamison!

...Please note the shorts and shirt...I will have to intervene for him, his style is killin' me! He is wearing his beloved "silky shorts"
His desire to wear them 24/7 exhausts me!!!

Playing a little music for us on his baby grand, thank you Aunt Lori!!

We had a little fun with food...I had a book from the library that is really cool, it gives you all kinds of ideas to make objects from food...I can't remember the name of it right now...anyways, we had fun making it. BUT, when it came time to eat the healthy parts, there was a little resistance :)
Can you tell what it is?! The picture in the book was so much better...much like all things in a book or magazine! It's a scooter...you see it now...right?!

My boy, playing QB!!! Go Jordan!

At the football game, we have a friend who brings Peanut with her. Isn't he so cute? Guess what my kids want? Two dogs, just like Peanut! Jannah walked him for a while and was beside herself with excitement. Jamison didn't get enough of Peanut and he was so mad/sad when we had to part ways with him; can you see the frustration on his face? He wanted the dog, all to himself. My kids ask, plead, beg on a daily basis for a dog or cat. When will I give in?
I don't know...maybe sooner than later, because I can't take much more of their pleading and sadness. They truly believe they are missing out on life...maybe we are. What do you think?

Baseball and Birthdays

Jordan is playing baseball! This is his first year to play, he's playing machine pitch and he's learning the game. We have had so much rain that it seems as though half of the practices and games have been cancelled (much to his dismay). Life seems so busy right now with all three J's activities, but I love it that way. I love seeing them try new activities and develop skills as they make friends and learn to be a part of a team. There's a lot to be learned!

You can not tell me that he's not the CUTEST little ball player?!?

Jordan had a delayed birthday party...but I think the "funness" might have made up for the delay! He invited three of his buddies over for a sleepover. They had a blast, and I did, too. What they did: ate a supper that consisted of Jordan's favorite foods, jumped on the trampoline, busted up a pinata, made ice cream sundaes, played nerf wars, played balloon games, they each had a lego kit to put together, watched a movie; last, but not least, they closed their eyes around 11:45...which may have been a few minutes after I closed mine :)

sugar-chicks?

Nice title, huh?

Do you see these donuts? They are the. best. EVER!!! When I was a kid, there wasn't a Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts or Daylight Donuts in Valdosta. Nope. There was something even better, DIXIE CREME! Now, G thinks I am wrong about this; but, I'm not: These donuts are the best in the world. Yes, I always feel like I have had waaaay too much sugar after eating about 4 of them (not kidding), but it's worth it.

Gampa's tradition is donuts for breakfast when we visit. The kids have been able to say donuts for about as long as they have been able to talk, I'm serious! He used to get each of them a bag of donut holes, but they have pretty much graduated to eating the big ones. The best part is cleaning up after them once they have all eaten a sprinkle donut...haha! Actually, the best part is eating that last bite that they left behind :)

This is Jordan with his teacher, Ms. S and one of the chicks that is in his classroom. He has been so excited to go to school to see these cute chicks. I love all of the details he comes home with in regards to the chick. He is paying very close attention to them and what they do and how many are close to hatching. Ms. S has about 20 in an incubator and so far, three have hatched. Jordan thinks they are the so cute and was so excited for me to go see them and hold one. I have to admit, they are cute and sweet. I am thinking about getting a few...not really!

S-I-X

Six years ago, little Jordan made his way into our lives. I can hardly believe it and I somehow wish I could freeze him, right now at this age. It doesn't seem like this much time could have gone by. I mean, really...time flies! He's the character in our house. He is funny, sensitive, super-curious, daring, kind-hearted, silly, helpful, mischievous, wild and full of love.

I realize that every day we have with our children is a gift; and every day, there is a new layer to unwrap.
